Crosswalks with no light should have more visibility for drivers

I have seen in several towns where they have a crosswalk with no light where the pedestrians can press a button and little lights in the street light up to alert drivers that someone is crossing. There are several places in town I think this would help save lives. For instance on Mountain just below Foothill there is a crosswalk with no light and also one for schoolchildren across Foothill near Ivy/Canyon. Another location I can think of is on Shamrock at Lime Ave. I would feel a lot safer crossing if there was some better indication that drivers could see that someone is trying to cross.

FYI, years ago when I first moved to Monrovia I saw someone hit and killed at the crosswalk on Mountain so I know that this has been an ongoing issue especially at night as it is hard to see the crosswalk lines sometimes.
