Of utmost importance to me and the neighbors I've spoken with is to keep Monrovia's Fire, Police, and Water within Monrovia and not contract out those services - even if supplemental funds from property tax fees are required. It's the only way to maintain financial, administrative, and policy control. I'm over 60 and have dealt with numerous municipalities and governmental entities during my life and have witnessed the financial abuses some agencies have thrust upon "innocent" citizens of a community (i.e. Metropolitan Water Co. of L.A. - too little accountabilty for too much spending).
