Canyon Park is a wonderful and unique asset of the City. It has numerous visitors to the Nature Center, picnic areas and trails on weekdays, and a high number of "walk-in visitors" on weekends. A high percentage of the park visitors are not residents of Monrovia, but nevertheless are welcome visitors. Since the City , and its residents, support the Park financially, it seems that a small entrance fee (maybe $1) would be a fair way for non-resident walk-in visitors to assist in maintaining this enjoyable wilderness. Note: There is currently a parking fee for cars that enter the Park whether a Monrovia resident or not.
